Fairtrade event

Some children from P6 and P7 went along to the Fairtrade event in Newcastle today to celebrate Fairtrade organised by Newry and Mourne Down District Council. The event celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight and also provided the opportunity for pupils to learn more about the benefits of supporting Fairtrade products.The children got to watch an assembly on Fairtrade and hear from a Fairtrade banana farmer from the Dominican Republic. It was a very rewarding and worthwhile event and we would like to encourage all our families to try to buy more Fairtrade products.
