Visit to Council Chambers Downpatrick

Our School was delighted to accept an invitation from the Deputy Chairperson of the Council, Gareth Sharvin, to visit the Council Chambers at Downshire Civic Centre. Pupils from the Eco Council and School Council representatives  from P5-7 received a presentation from Democratic Services Manager Sarah Teggart and MLA Colin McGrath was also in attendance. 

The students gained more understanding on how Local Government works and the impact that it makes within the district.

Pupils also had the opportunity to take part in a question-and-answer session to understand the many different aspects of the roles involved in the district and Stormont.
