Maths Week Home Project – Friday 17th October
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our exciting Maths Week celebrations, we’re inviting all pupils to take part in a special home project. Each child will choose one of three creative options to complete at home and bring into school on Friday 17th October. Entries can be physically brought into school or a photograph will do too!
There will be two winners in every class, and all entries will be celebrated!
Choose one of the following:
Bake It
Bake something that shows off your child’s maths skills!
Ideas: Shape biscuits, symmetrical cupcakes, carefully measured muffins.
Please ensure all baked items are nut-free and suitable to share with the class.
Children should include a short note or label explaining the maths involved.
Build It
Create a 3D model using recycled materials, LEGO, or craft supplies.
Ideas: A shape sculpture, a maths-themed robot, or a pyramid city!
Children should label the shapes used and describe any maths features.
Create It
Make a maths-themed piece of art, poster, or puzzle.
Ideas: A shape collage, a maths board game, a riddle booklet, or a “Why I Love Maths” poster.
Encourage colour, creativity, and fun!
We can’t wait to see the amazing maths creations from home. Thank you for your support in making Maths Week a memorable and inspiring experience for all our pupils!
