Primary three had a fantastic visit from Mr Hugh O’Donnell. He told them all about his father and brother who were lighthouse keepers. Mr O’Donnell explained to the children that as a family they moved around to different lighthouses. His father had to work on lighthouses that were on land and at sea.He showed the pupils how he had to use flags to pass messages onto his father from their house on the island to the lighthouse out at sea. He also showed the pupils the size of the light bulb that was used to light up the light house compared to a normal light bulb.It was an extremely interesting and enjoyable talk.
