Christmas in Primary Three

We have been so busy in Primary Three over the last couple of weeks. We have just completed our World Around Us topic on Celebrations. The children have been learning about Chinese New Year and have been creating wonderful, colourful Chinese dragons and Chinese Lanterns. They have also enjoyed investigating the similarities and differences in different celebrations around the world and looking at how Celebrations have evolved over the years. They loved setting up a bakery in the role play area and made some tasty food and snacks for a birthday party. They practised their writing skills by writing birthday invitations and place names for the birthday table. The pupils have also been improving their ICT skills by using Just2Easy to survey the class and find out what month’s their birthdays fall. They loved taking part in the Christmas play, making Christmas cards and having Christmas dinner in school.
