Activity Based Learning in Primary Three

Over the past month, Primary Three have been taken part in Activity Based Learning activities, in conjunction with their World Around Us topic, entitled Bugs, Birds and Beasts. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a Scavenger hunt where the pupils had to search for different types of insects, ? birds ? and small animals. There was lots of excitement and screams of joy when they discovered any mini beasts. The pupils also set up a science lab ? outside the classroom where they had to role-play being a scientist ?‍? ??‍? They were provided with magnifying glasses, specimen jars, and notebooks to examine and record their findings on different living things. Bug hotels were also constructed using natural materials such as wood, ? leaves ? and stones as well as Lego bricks ? and wooden blocks. Lastly, the pupils chose an insect, bird or beast and researched some facts about it. They recorded their findings on JIT5. ?
